Magnificat is a private Catholic girls' college preparatory high school founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary.

History of Facilities:
The official ground breaking for Magnificat High School took place on August 5, 1955 with founding principal Sister Mary of Lourdes (Bernadette) Vetter. There were 63 freshmen in the first class.
  • 1956 School and convent built
  • 1970 Resource Center, LGI, faculty room and leisure area added
  • 1986 Four new classrooms added to east end of building
  • 1987 Activity Center and tennis courts built
  • 1991 Softball and soccer field renovated
  • 1993 Two additional tennis courts added and all-weather surface installed on track. Convent renovated for art and math centers. Original science labs completely renovated and two state-of the-art chemistry and two biology labs added with adjoining preparation rooms. Two computer labs added.
  • 1994 Additional parking developed
  • 1998 New technology center established with expanded Internet access and multimedia capabilities
  • 1999 Renovation of courtyard and cafeteria
  • 2003 Ground breaking for new Performing Arts Center
  • 2004 Performing Art Center and new Chapel completed. Renovation of main building including windows, bathrooms and a new weight room
  • 2007 Softball and soccer field renovated
Location:
Magnificat is located in Rocky River, Ohio, a residential suburb with an approximate population of 23,000. The location is eight miles west of Cleveland and less than one mile from I-90 Rocky River exit.

Enrollment:
Over 875 students from throughout the Cleveland area attend Magnificat. Students come from as far west as Amherst, as far south as Medina and as far east as Mentor.
