ENDOWMENT EVENT

Fifty years ago, the Sisters of the Humility of Mary were the "living endowment" for Magnificat High School. Earning wages of $450 per year, they devoted their lives to ensure that this Catholic all-girls' college-preparatory school graduates women of faith who lead and serve.

Now, as we prepare in 2009 to celebrate the first 50th reunion of the Class of 1959, Magnificat and the Sisters can look back with pride at its first half-century of graduates and marvel at what they have accomplished.

With this in mind, we ask for your support of our annual Endowment Gala. The gala income adds to the Magnificat financial endowment for scholarship dollars, replacing the service given by the 108 Sisters of the Humility of Mary over our first half-century. One of those 108 Sisters is Sr. Mary Pat Cook '63, our current principal retiring at the end of this school year, who will be honored at this year's gala with the Alumnae Award of Excellence. She exemplifies the service and leadership so treasured in Magnificat graduates! In addition, graduate Nancy McDonough Geschke '60 and her husband Charles Geschke are receiving The Magnificat Award for their service to the Magnificat mission by creating five full-tuition scholarships with their million-dollar gift to an endowment fund.

Your gift helps to ensure the future of Magnificat High School's ability to educate young women for the next half-century. Thank you. It is a joy and a privilege to educate women of faith who lead and serve, and we could not do it without you!

Join us March 28th, 2009 for the 20th annual event!
