SERVICE
Through participation in the Campus Ministry service programs, Magnificat students answer the call to live Mary's Magnificat in the world. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of service opportunities. An important component of these programs includes ongoing prayer and reflection that invites the students to connect their service experience with their faith in ever-deeper ways. By extending themselves in humility, compassion, and love, students directly experience the profound truth that in giving we receive.

Weekly Programs
In the weekly service programs, students commit themselves to participate in service after school one day each week, either for a semester or for the entire school year. These weekly service programs include tutoring at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Rocco grade schools and a ministry of companionship at Crestmont North Nursing Home.
Tutoring Programs
Nearly 100 students participate in the after-school tutoring programs each week. Participants in these programs are paired in a one-on-one relationship with a student from Our Lady of Mount Carmel or St. Rocco. As tutors, the Magnificat students assist the child with his or her school work and serve as a positive role model through their leadership and friendship.

Ministry of Companionship
Each week approximately 15 students spend an afternoon at Crestmont North Nursing Home, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located in Lakewood, Ohio. Each Magnificat student is paired with a resident that she spends time visiting with and participating in activities with throughout the semester or year. The purpose of this program is to build a relationship of care and compassion between the resident and the student.
