INFORMATION SHEET
General Information:
The Magnificat High School Center for the Performing Arts opened in the fall of 2004. It includes a professionally detailed theater seating 1,003 patrons, a large lobby, choral and instrumental rehearsal spaces, a "green" room, men's and women's dressing rooms, a scene shop, an orchestra pit, a coat-check room, a box office and restrooms. There are also many amenities available such as choir and band chairs, music stands, an acoustic shell and a seven-foot grand piano.

Inside the theater there are three areas of seating:
  • The Orchestra
    • located on the main level in front of the stage, seats approximately 500
  • The Mezzanine
    • located behind the orchestra section, seats approximately 250
  • The Balcony
    • located on the second floor, seats approximately 250

  • Wheelchair accessibility
    • There are 11 removable seats in the orchestra section that can accommodate 6-8 wheelchair patrons. Entrances to the facility and the theater are also wheelchair accessible.
    Adjacent parking lots
    • can accommodate approximately 350 cars.
Stage
  • The Proscenium measures 48' wide and 22' high. Stage depth from Proscenium to upstage wall is 35'4". The stage right and left wings each measure 24'8" wide by 35'4" deep. There is approximately 12' of thrust stage available downstage of the main curtain (Proscenium) when the orchestra pit is covered (the Orchestra Pit cover is normally installed).
Stage Rigging
  • Stage rigging consists of 25 fly lines. Low trim is approximately 4', and high trim is approximately 40' (measurements from stage floor elevation).There are three travelers (main, mid-stage and upstage), two leg sets, four borders, three electrics, a movie screen, a sound cloud (three pieces), a black scrim and a cyc. There are seven general purpose battens.
Lighting System
  • The house lighting system is controlled by an ETC Emphasis system (Express 48/96 Facepanel control board) located in a lighting booth in the rear of the house.

    There are approximately 151 dimmers distributing power to the FOH catwalk (52), three electrics on the stage (24 each), and wall and floor pockets on the stage (27 total). [The balance of the dimmer system (approximately 40 channels) are dedicated to the architectural lighting systems and are therefore unavailable for stage productions.]

    There are: 54 ETC Source Four ellipsoidal spotlights,
                       12 ETC Source Four PAR fixtures,
                       12 ETC Source Four parnel fixtures,
                       6 L&E 3-cell Broad Cyc fixtures,
                       6 ETC 3-4 Circuit Multi Par strip lights and
                       12 L&E 14" focusing scoop lights distributed between the FOH catwalk
                       and the three (stage) electrics.

    There are two Robert Juliat "Buxie" followspots
                       located at either end of the FOH catwalk.
Cost:
  • The Magnificat Center for Performing Arts is available to rent by the hour or for an entire event.

    • Cost is $50 an hour for rehearsal times, and $1,000 for performance day ($600 for non-profit organizations).

    • The theater manager is also available to you when you are in the building for $25 an hour.

    • Trained student crew members can be provided for $12.50 an hour, and ushers may be provided for free based on availability.
