Summer Camp

Camp Magnificat, June 2013

The tradition of great summer camps for young women continues at Magnificat this June. This year’s program features Crime Solvers, Creative Digital Art, Runway Fashions and Theater camps, as well as a variety of outstanding athletic camps such as tennis, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and many others.

And new this year, our relationship with Great Lakes Science Center continues as we team up to offer STEM-oriented camps for girls and boys in grades 4-5 and 6-8! Developed around a core theme of scientific exploration, these additional camps include:

LEGO NEXT (robotics)
Dissection Discovery
Junkyard Wars (building structures out of recycled goods)
Extreme Engineering (nature-inspired biomimicry)
Renewable Energy-The Green Scene

Annual Blue Streaks Through River 5K & Farmers Market

Sunday, May 26, 2013, 8:30 a.m.

Do you know that the Angels in Blue Fund is set up to help Magnificat families in need with school-related expenses, such as retreat fees and uniform expenses? The primary fundraiser for this fund is none other than the Annual Blue Streaks Through River 5K, held in May each year. Last year, $4,835 was provided from this fund to help families, and we hope to raise more this year. The Blue Streaks Through River 5K is a great way for alumnae, families and friends to have some healthy fun together while supporting the Magnificat school community in a meaningful way.Wear your blue and white proudly and come out to walk or run! The race begins at 8:30 a.m. The lead sponsor of this year’s race is the Flynn Insurance Group, owned by Alumnae Board Member Anne Nicole Flynn ’99. The first 200 registrants will receive race t-shirts designed by a Magnificat student. See you at the race!

And new this year, there will be a Farmers Market at the race!
