Traditionally held in early November, the Night-in-Blue Bazaar and Spaghetti Dinner, sponsored by the Fathers’ Club and Mothers’ Club, celebrates a homecoming of students, alumnae, families, friends, and present and former teachers of Magnificat. From the delicious spaghetti dinner, which has evolved from the roast beef and mashed potatoes first served in the mid-50s to Kids’ Korner, Night-in-Blue has something for everyone.
What’s so special about Night-in-Blue is that it is a student fundraiser–a chance for the girls of Magnificat to experience the satisfaction of helping their school through their volunteer efforts and entrepreneurship. Each year, students are asked to help support the event by selling raffle tickets for a grand prize–this year $10,000–and offering ads to area businesses and individuals to be featured in the Night-in-Blue Annual.
Each year the girls look forward to the friendly competition between classes and individuals, the chance to win prizes for goals achieved and the excitement that builds each week prior to the event.
Each year, families and friends tell us not only how much fun they had at the event, but also what a great opportunity they had to participate in Night-in-Blue as a family. Night-in-Blue throughout its over half-century history has been a memorable event for the Magnificat community, touching old and new friends of the school of all ages.
