Over 80 alumnae moms and their families enjoyed a free movie night on January 30 featuring Shrek. The LGI area was transformed into an indoor drive-in as blankets were laid out and little ones came dressed in their jammies. Sister Helen Jean Novy, H.M., Interim President, welcomed families with a prayer, and everyone who attended was registered to win door prizes. Business Club members sold movie theater-type snacks, with proceeds to benefit Smile Train, a children's charity that provides free cleft lip and palate repair surgery to children in developing countries. Thank you to all who attended, and to our anonymous alumna who sponsored this fabulous first-time event, and to the Alumnae Board for coordinating it.

Nearly 40 alumnae braved freezing temperatures for a girls' night out on Fat Tuesday at the Burntwood Tavern with Sister Helen Jean Novy, H.M., Interim President, and Alumnae Board members. Thank you to all alumnae who made the evening fun!
Monday, February 23, 6:30-8 p.m.
Sister Helen Jean Novy, H.M., Interim President, led the annual Lenten Night of Reflection in the Lourdes Chapel. The guiding theme for the evening was As Lent Deepens, Hope Springs. Guests enjoyed a soup supper and conversation in the Faculty Room prior to the retreat.

Please join us Friday, April 17 for the Magnificat Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner to honor Michelle Bagi Block ’00, Eileen Corrigan Pickett ’92, Laura DeLong Hummer ’96, Ellen Fox Spear ’89, Becky Kulbago Blue ’90, Kelly McIntyre Campbell ’91, Lori Reinart Kroth ’93 and Therese Chambers Arth, former Athletic Director. Each of these extraordinary women has demonstrated the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and moral character as an athlete or coach, and continues to learn, lead and serve in the spirit of Mary’s Magnificat.
The Induction Ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction Room (LGI) and is followed by a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35. The Young Alumnae Association (YAA) is offering a free yoga class, led by Mary Monroe Gallagher '03 and Liz Albanese Hjort '05. Join us to end your busy day on a peaceful, healthy note. Magnifi-yoga will be held in the Large Group Instruction Room (LGI) and is open to all alumnae with ANY level of yoga experience. Remember to dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat and water bottle. Good will offerings will be accepted to benefit the Angels in Blue Fund, which helps Magnificat families in need with school-related expenses, such as school lunches, uniforms, retreat fees and prom bids.

Magnificat’s Young Alumnae Association (YAA) has rescheduled the third annual Coffee and Careers Event to take place Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Coffee and Careers is a career exploration event where alumnae have opportunities to network, learn from fellow alumnae about different career opportunities and even receive a free, personal resume review. Unlike typical speed networking events, guests will have a chance to meet and talk in small groups with a number of alumnae representing different careers.
