How do I report my daughter’s absence, streaming, late arrival or early dismissal?
When reporting your daughter's absence, late arrival, early dismissal, or streaming we ask that you email our attendance coordinator, Patsy Kelly at email@example.com. Please try to email by 7:30 am. A a reminder, if your daughter is not feeling well in the morning, please keep her home.
What should my daughter do if she needs help in a particular class?
All teachers have office hours for both in-person and streaming students at least two days a week after 1:30 pm. Your daughter can see her individual teachers' office hours on their Google Classroom, and they are also posted on each teacher’s PlusPortals class pages. Students are always encouraged to email their teachers if they are in need of assistance!
What time does the school day end?
Although daily classes end by 1:30 pm, the school day should be considered as continuing through 3:00 pm. Students may use this time to complete the assignments for the three classes which do not meet on a given day. It is also during this time that students can complete make-up assessments, work with tutors, or seek out extra assistance from individual teachers. Students with jobs should not use their work schedule as a reason for not attending required tutoring or make-up test sessions.
What are the expectations of my daughter when she is streaming?
She is expected to be on time for all class sessions. Please note the first class of the day begins at 8:00 am.
Appropriate lighting should be used to allow her full face to be visible in the camera frame.
She should be appropriately dressed in a Magnificat shirt or sweatshirt.
She should maintain an upright sitting position that is conducive to learning, preferably at a table or desk.
Any student who is expected to be streaming but not fully present and/or visible for the entire class time will be reported to the Office of Student Life as an unexcused absence.
What if my daughter has assessments to make-up that she has missed because she is streaming?
Students should contact individual teachers about scheduling test or assessment make-ups.
Students should make-up any missed assessments within one (1) week of when it was given to the in-person classes.
When students come into the building to make-up a test, they should be in their Magnificat uniform.
What if my daughter’s Germ Bandit spray bottle is empty or she needs a new microfiber towel?
Your daughter can stop by the Hub in the Marian Commons to refill her spray bottle, get a replacement bottle or borrow one for the day. At the end of every week, she should drop her used towel in the bins by the doors on the way out of school and pick up a clean one from a separate bin to use the following week.
