Magnificamp

Magnificamp is a magnificent way to spend the summer!

Our day camps for girls entering Grades 1-8 explore a variety of exciting themes that encourage creativity, discovery, learning, and fun.
 
Sessions are offered in the morning (8:30-11:30 a.m.) or afternoon (12-3 p.m.). Sign up for two for a full day of fun with supervision provided at lunch, or add in an Athletic Camp to explore multiple interests in one great location! 
 
Week 1: June 13-17 - $175 per Magnificamp
Week 2: June 21-24 - $140 per Magnificamp 
Week 3: June 27 - July 1 - $175 per Magnificamp

Please note supply fees for select camps as indicated. Before and after care are available for $25 per week. 

The refund deadline for Magnificamp was May 1, 2022, and the last day to register was May 20, 2022. Please submit your refund request via email to Susan Faler at sfaler@maghs.org. A $25 fee per registration will be deducted from the requested refund. Camp t-shirts may not be available for late registrants.

  • Grades 1-3

    MORNING (8:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
     
    Puppet Theatre (Grades 2-4) 
    Calling all puppeteers! Discover the ins and outs of puppet making and how to put on a riveting show that will keep the audience capitaved. Campers will make their own puppets and produce their own puppet show! This is the camp for creative minds who like to entertain. Supply fee: $20

    Cheer We Go! (Grades 1-3)

    Join our fun and exciting Cheerleading camp and learn all about the basics of cheerleading!  You will learn how to project our spirited cheers, chants, and songs with enthusiasm!  Keep active and engaged discovering cheer claps, motions, kicks, and jumps. Show off your newfound skills and camp cheers on the last day! 

    Little Picassos

    Let your creativity flow this summer as we create different arts and crafts throughout the week! Each day entails a new project using a variety of tools such as paint, paper, crayons, markers, beads, yarn, and sand. Some projects include making your own slime and paper, a puppet show, jellyfish salt painting, and tissue paper butterflies. This camp is all about creativity and fun and is sure to excite any art-loving fanatic! Supply fee: $15

    If you have ever wondered “what’s for dinner,” then this camp is for you! Future chefs will feed their cooking curiosity through hands-on recipes each day – with plenty to take home! Cooking-inspired crafts and colorful recipes will help campers find their confidence in the kitchen. We will emphasize how fun food can be as we explore dishes for every meal of the day. (Ingredients include but are not limited to: milk, butter, eggs, flour, sugar, and gelatin.) Supply fee: TBD 
     
    AFTERNOON (12-3 p.m.)

    All About Animals
    Discover the world through the eyes of animals! Campers will take a tour of the seven continents to learn about the different animals that inhabit them. Our exploration across the world will help us learn about animal behaviors both large and small. We will have fun with animal-themed games, songs, and crafts. Expect a roaring fun time and playful experience for animal lovers and future zoologists. Supply fee: $15

    Come to cooking camp with an appetite! Young chefs will  discover the ins and outs of cooking and baking by  learning new skills each day. In our kitchen, young chefs  will create delicious food and explore new recipes that  they can make again at home. During the week, participants will learn how to make desserts, breakfast,  appetizers, and more! (Ingredients include but are not  limited to: butter, eggs, flour, and sugar.) Supply fee $25
     
    Superhero Dance Camp (Grades 4-6) 
    Jump up, up, and away in this superhero themed dance camp! Participants will learn various styles of dance including ballet, jazz, and hip hop while exploring their creative sides and having fun! For the last day of camp, students are encouraged to wear their best superhero costume for a small performance to showcase what they’ve learned. Get ready to save the day!

    Calling All Wizards! (Grades 4-6)

    Welcome to Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s spellbinding world of magic wands, potions, and fantastic beasts. Prepare for full immersion into Potter-mania as you experience the excitement and camaraderie of competing for the House Cup with your friends. Create and care for your own fantastic beasts such as dragons and pygmy puffs. Advance to the subtle art of potion-making, and put your wizarding knowledge to the test in magic duels. It’s going to be an unforgettably magical summer!

    Crafty Creations (Grades 4-6) 
    Explore your creativity this summer by crafting your curiosity! We will be creating different DIY crafts each day of the week to get campers to think outside the box. These creations are treasures that our campers want to bring home! Each day will be a different craft using a variety of techniques and materials. Some projects we will have include tie-dyeing, painting, making sun catchers, jewelry-making, building crafts, and more! This camp is designed to get your creative juices flowing all while having fun! Supply fee: $10

    Woodburning Art (Grades 5-8)
    Learn the art of pyrography, or woodburning! Woodburning is a process that promotes mindfulness and produces something beautiful. You can do it for yourself or give it to a loved one. And, with the right techniques, you’ll be churning out unique projects in no time. Supply fee: $20
  • Grades 7-8

    AFTERNOON (12-3 p.m.)

    Artistic Visions (Grades 7-8)
    Join us for a week of creativity, starting with the creation of a funky sketchbook to house our daily creations. The week will be full of exciting materials and unique projects to express your own artistic visions through clay, paint, ink, and pencil.

    Woodburning Art (Grades 5-8)

    A Royal Dance Camp
    Twirl into your favorite fairy tale in this magical dance camp! Participants will learn fundamentals of ballet, choreography, and storytelling in a creative and fun environment. At the end of the week, students are encouraged to wear their favorite fairy tale costume for a small performance to showcase what they’ve learned! It’s sure to be a royally awesome time!

    STEM Discovery
    In our STEM camp, participants will become engineers who explore, build, and create projects together! Each day will focus on a new activity geared towards science, technology, engineering, and math. Participants will work together to solve real-world problems, engage in scavenger hunts, and explore math through arts and crafts. This camp will be upbeat and exciting while engaging students in summer science fun! Supply fee: $10

    Art Explorers

    Come for a week of exciting art experiences that encourage imagination and inventiveness. Using a variety of materials and techniques, campers will explore animals and nature through clay, printmaking, and drawing.

    Calling all animal lovers! Learn more about your pets in a super fun and interactive way at Little Vet School! Aspiring veterinarians will explore the world of animal care through a combination of crafts, activities, and hands-on lessons. Come join us to create your very own veterinarian kit, practice good pet care, and even meet an animal or two along the way! Supply fee: $15
  • Grades 4-6

    MORNING (8:30-11:30 a.m.)

    Colorful Creators
    Campers will engage in daily art prompts and projects to encourage imagination and expressiveness through color, patterns, and textures. We will use a variety of art materials to create both 2-D and 3-D projects throughout the week. 

    Photography: Hit Me With Your Best Shot Jr.!  
    The best way to become a better photographer is to get out into the world and make pictures of people, places, and things, and then to look at them together and discuss. In this week-long session, campers will learn the basics of how to make a great photo, from picking the subject matter to composition, lighting, and camera control. Photo shoots will be indoor and outdoors on our beautiful campus, depending on the weather. Whether your child has a digital SLR, a point-and-shoot camera or a smartphone, this is the place to develop photography skills. Fire away!

    Lemonade Day Camp

    Lemonade Day Camp is a young entrepreneur’s dream! In a small team setting, entrepreneurs will create a lemonade stand; decide which product(s) to sell; learn how to price, market, and sell the product(s); determine how to realize a profit; and distribute the profit to teammates and a charity of choice. The Lemonade Stand will be open for business on the fourth day of camp, so plan to stop by for some icy refreshment. This camp is based on the model created by National Lemonade Day.

    Super Sleuths Spy Camp

    Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is simple: Report to Magnificat High School for the world’s finest secret agent training. Try your hand at code-breaking, fingerprinting, and more as you complete top secret missions and solve mysteries using your newly acquired spy skills. At the end of the week, put your skills to the test in a thrilling escape room as you and your spy squad work to escape danger before it’s too late!

  • Grades 7-8

    MORNING (8:30-11:30 a.m.) 

    Strange New Worlds Sci-Fi
    Blast into a universe of science fiction! This camp is an action-packed week filled with Jedi games, starship building, science experiments, and sci-fi media. There will be opportunities and inspiration to work on your own sci-fi creations (whether that be a story, art piece, video, or anything else) and to watch and talk about favorite movies and shows. Campers will also make and take home decorative crafts they can display in their rooms. This summer, come explore the galaxy!  
     
    AFTERNOON (12-3 p.m.)
     
    Photography: Hit Me With Your Best Shot 
    The best way to become a better photographer is to get out there and make pictures, look at them, talk about them, learn, and repeat! In this week-long session, campers will learn the basics of how to make a great photo, from picking the subject matter to composition, lighting, and camera control. Campers will learn to use a DSLR and some basic compositional strategies to make beautiful photographs. Photo shoots will be indoors and outdoors on our beautiful campus, depending on the weather. This is the place to learn how to “hit me with your best shot! Fire away! DSLRs are provided and will be shared unless campers bring their own.

    Girls Rock Math
    Math is so much fun! Learn how by combining art, games, and jewelry-making with numeracy. Participants will design beaded bracelet patterns, make colorful charts, and learn about simple budgets. This dynamic week of numbers, games, and creativity utilizes the nationally recognized “Count Me In” program designed especially for girls.

    Snack Attack Chefs!

    Can’t wait for lunch? Is dinner too far away? Crush your cravings with fun, between-meal recipes and new cooking skills! Snackers will get moving with games to stir their appetite, and then mix up fresh recipes they can take home. We will emphasize variety in our snacking choices and the joy of sharing in snacktime. Ingredients include but are not limited to: milk, butter, eggs, flour, sugar, and gelatin. Supply fee: TBD 

    Little Vet School

    Introduction to Asian Culture Through Art & STEM Projects 
    A fun and age-appropriate exploration of Asian culture, with a virtual tour of Chinese landmarks, including the Great Wall; art activities, such as origami and martial arts; and STEM projects that educate young scholars about the Great Panda and amazing silkworm and how it produces silk. Students will enjoy an international journey through play and exploration.

    Discover the enchanted world of unicorns through imaginative stories, songs, games, and mixed-media crafts. Delight in making unicorn crowns, magic wands, jewelry, dream catchers, and other fabulous accessories to show off at home. Best of all, create and care for your very own snuggly unicorn!     Sweets and Treats Cooking Camp

    Do you have a sweet tooth? Are you ready for a baking extravaganza? Join us this summer for a week of  baking fun. Each day of the week we will make desserts and bake some of our favorite treats! Bring your appetite, and you will leave with a full stomach and baking skills! Ingredients include but are not limited to: butter, eggs, flour, and sugar. Supply fee: $25 

    Puppet Theatre

    Magnificat Mathematicians 
    Strengthen your math skills and have fun at our math boot camp! Participants will be engaging in fun activities that will reinforce previously learned math skills and introduce them to new math concepts. During this week-long camp, participants will complete activities that focus on order of operations, math tricks, word problems, fractions, and geometry. Let’s work on our math fitness together this summer!

    Under the Sea Camp

    Splish splash, I was having a blast Under the Sea! Dive into a week of fun at Magnificat. Immerse yourself in beach-themed activities like making ocean glitter jars, "fish bowl" slime, and even your own shark lollipops! You are “shore” to have buckets of fun, so secure your spot now.
  • Grades 7-8

    MORNING (8:30-11:30 a.m.)

    Dance for Musical Theatre 
    Learn to dance like your favorite Broadway stars! Classes will focus on the fundamentals of jazz dance in the style of musical theatre. Students can expect to learn choreography to songs from popular musicals, learn how to count music and be part of an ensemble, and learn stage and theatre terminology that will help them in future auditions. If you're interested in jazz dance, musicals, or performing in general, you won't want to miss this show-stopping camp!

    Model United Nations
    Model United Nations is an engaging activity for future world leaders. Participants will research and role play as delegates from various nations in an attempt to solve real-world issues such as climate change, pollution, and human rights, as well as some less serious topics of choice. Delegates will hone their public speaking and group problem-solving skills as they work together to create joint resolutions. They are empowered to investigate the world, recognize different perspectives, communicate ideas to a diverse audience, and apply what they learn in a creative way. It's not all research; we will take the time to enjoy summer fun and get to know our new friends


Magnificat High School, a girls' Catholic college-preparatory high school, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, educates young women holistically to learn, lead, and serve in the spirit of Mary’s Magnificat.
