Wednesday, February 1, 2017 - 7:00pm

An Invitation to a Parent Partnership with
Father Gregory Boyle, S.J., Founder and Executive Director of Homeboy Industries, author of Tattoos on the Heart, The Power of Boundless Compassion

Sponsored by Magnificat High School and Saint Ignatius High School

Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, Calif., is the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program in the world. From 1986 to 1992, Father Boyle was pastor of Dolores Mission Church, then the poorest Catholic parish in Los Angeles with the highest concentration of gang activity in the city. In the face of law enforcement tactics and criminal justice policies of suppression and mass incarceration as the means to end gang violence, Father Boyle and parish and community members adopted what was then a radical approach: treat gang members as human beings. Out of that, Homeboy was born.
