  • Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

If you’re 73 or older, you can request a QCD, a transfer up to $100,000 from your traditional IRA to be made payable directly to Magnificat. The QCD can count toward your required minimum distribution, and it won’t count as taxable income. Check in with your financial advisor to see if making a QCD to Magnificat would be beneficial for you.
  • Appreciated Securities and Gifts of Stock

Magnificat accepts donations of securities that are held for more than one year. You are permitted to use the full value of the security at the time of donation as a tax deduction, while avoiding any capital gains tax. Click here to learn more.

  • Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund, a charitable savings account, provides tax benefits and gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to Magnificat High School and other charitable organizations.
  • Create a Legacy with a Bequest

Build a legacy empowering young women to learn, lead, and serve.  Include Magnificat in your will or trust and leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. Other options include making contingent or residual bequests. We can provide sample bequest language to add Magnificat to your will or to amend your will to include Magnificat. This is a thoughtful way to create a legacy to ensure Magnificat's future without impacting your current finances.

  • Gifts of Property

Magnificat accepts donations of a donor’s property, including residences, jewelry, art, etc. The specialized help of appraisers and tax advisors is necessary to make gifts of property.

  • Non-Probate Assets

Do you have an IRA, 401(k), life-insurance policy, or any other assets not included in your will? These are called non-probate assets and you must plan your beneficiaries for them separately. You can designate Magnificat High School as a beneficiary of these types of assets to help our students grow into models for others—at no cost today. It's easy to do this--contact your plan administrator and request a change of beneficiary form to start the process.
Magnificat High School, a girls' Catholic college-preparatory high school, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, educates young women holistically to learn, lead, and serve in the spirit of Mary’s Magnificat.
