Magnificat’s Genesis programming has been undergoing an exciting renewal over the last several years. Genesis, no longer a single experience for students at the end of their senior year, is a four-year program designed to foster student learning, leading, and serving in and outside the context of regular classes and the normal school day. It now includes a four-year comprehensive and formational series of involvements, actions, and opportunities, culminating with a 40-hour experience over the summer prior to or during the first semester of senior year.
Additionally, in order to foster an awareness and appreciation of her holistic growth and development, your daughter will be provided with opportunities to reflect on the unique components that she will complete to fulfill her individual Genesis Program.
Freshman Year | Students explore learning strengths and personality types to gain insights about potential career pathways, participate in an examination of professional etiquette.
Sophomore Year | Students participate Learn at Lunch program which feature Magnificat alumnae returning to speak with students about their careers, complete a career exploration and an exploration of interviewing skills.
Junior Year | Drawing from Catholic Social Teaching, students will identify a contemporary social justice issue that they explore through the lens of Church teaching through their real-world "Agape" projects
The culmination of the program is the Genesis experience which each student completes between the end of junior year the start of the second semester of her senior year. The experiences of our students, whether local or national, are impressive in scope.
