Magnificamp

Magnificamp is a magnificent way to spend the summer!

Our day camps for girls entering Grades 1-6 explore a variety of exciting themes that encourage creativity, discovery, learning, and fun.
 
Sessions are offered in the morning (8:30-11:30 a.m.) or afternoon (12-3 p.m.). Sign up for two for a full day of fun with supervision provided at lunch, or add in an Athletic Camp to explore multiple interests in one great location! 
 
Week 1: June 12-16, 2023 - $200 per Magnificamp
Week 2: June 20-23, 2023 - $160 per Magnificamp 
Week 3: June 26-30, 2023 - $200 per Magnificamp

Please note supply fees for select camps as indicated will range from $10-30. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available for $30 each per week. 

The refund deadline for Magnificamp is May 1, 2023, and the last day to register is May 19, 2023. Please submit your refund request via email to Susan Faler at sfaler@maghs.org. A $25 fee per registration will be deducted from the requested refund. Camp t-shirts may not be available for late registrants.

    Discover the fun side of the worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math. Participants will enjoy daily engaging activities such as scavenger hunts, fun experiments, and innovative projects. They will work together to solve real-world problems while unleashing their creative potential. This camp will be upbeat and exciting while engaging students in summer science fun! Supply fee: TBD

    Dance Camp (Grades 1-3)
    Twirl into your favorite fairy tale in this magical dance camp! Participants will learn fundamentals of ballet, choreography, and storytelling in a creative and fun environment. At the end of the week, students wear a fairy tale costume they created for a small performance to showcase what they’ve learned. It’s sure to be a royally awesome time!

    Unicorn Camp (Grades 1-3)
    Discover the enchanted world of unicorns through imaginative stories, songs, games, and mixed-media crafts. Delight in making unicorn crowns, magic wands, jewelry, dream catchers, and other fabulous accessories to show off at home. Best of all, create and care for your very own snuggly unicorn!     Future chefs will feed their cooking curiosity through hands-on recipes each day — with plenty to take home! Join us in creating colorful and fun recipes that will help campers find their confidence in the kitchen. We will emphasize how fun food can be as we explore dishes for every meal of the day. But that’s not all: Chefs will also create a fun cooking-inspired craft to go with their new dish! Ingredients will include but are not limited to milk, eggs, all purpose flour, and sugar.     New! Princess Party (Grades 1-3)
    Welcome to our princess party for fans of princesses from all your favorite films! Participate in crafts and games, meet magical creatures, and earn your crown. Famous princesses will serve as guides through crafts and games. By the end of the week, everyone will be members of a sisterhood founded on the royal values of love and kindness, and understand what it means to be a true princess. Supply fee: TBD

    New! Garden Mania (Grades 1-3)  
    How does your garden grow? Come to Garden Mania to learn all about how a variety of gardens grow and the many elements of creation that contribute to healthy planting, fertilization and development of flowering and vegetable gardens — and no garden would be complete without creative decorations that make a garden your own!     Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is simple: Report to Magnificat High School for the world’s finest secret agent training. Try your hand at code-breaking, fingerprinting, and more as you complete top secret missions and solve mysteries using your newly acquired spy skills. At the end of the week, put your skills to the test in a thrilling escape room as you and your spy squad work to escape danger before it’s too late!

    Calling All Wizards! (Grades 4-6) 
    Welcome to the spellbinding world of magic wands, potions, and fantastic beasts. Prepare for full immersion into wizard training as you experience the excitement and camaraderie of competing for the House Cup with your friends. Create and care for your own fantastic beasts such as dragons and pygmy puffs, advance to the subtle art of potion-making, and put your wizarding knowledge to the test in magic duels. It’s going to be an unforgettably magical summer!

    Strange New Worlds (Grades 4-6)
    Set phasers to fun and blast into a universe of science fiction! This camp is an action-packed week filled with Jedi training, starship building, science experiments, and sci-fi media. There will be opportunities and inspiration to work on your own sci-fi creations (whether that be a story, art piece, video, or anything else) and to watch favorite movies and shows. Each camper will also make and take home multiple decorative crafts. This summer, come explore the galaxy!   

    New! Creative Art Techniques (Grades 4-6) - THIS CAMP IS FULL

    Learn the art of pyrography, or wood burning! Try your hand at calligraphy and painting. Spice up your illustrations and create something beautiful. No experience necessary, and with a few techniques, you’ll be churning out unique projects in no time. Learn new skills to last a lifetime!  Supply fee: TBD

    Unleash your inner artist and let your creativity flow as you use a variety of tools to make your very own artistic creations each day. Projects include making your very own slime, creating a jellyfish salt painting, and making puppets for a puppet show. This camp is all about creativity and fun, sure to excite any art fanatic!     New! Fairy Camp (Grades 1-3)                                                           
    Be a part of Magnificat's magical Fairy Camp! Each day we will learn about fairies through stories, folklore, songs, and dance. We will delight in crafts such as magic wands, flower crowns, and fairy wings. Campers will use their imaginations and creativity to create a fairy garden throughout the week to take home.     Little Vet School (Grades 1-3) - THIS CAMP IS FULL

    Calling all animal lovers! Become a purr-fect veterinarian and learn more about your pets in a super fun and interactive way at Little Vet School! Aspiring veterinarians will explore the world of animal care through a combination of crafts, activities, and hands-on lessons. Come join us to create your very own veterinarian kit, practice good pet care, and even meet an animal or two along the way. We hope you will join us for a week of paw-some learning and fun!     All About Animals (Grades 1-3)  
    Discover the world through the eyes of animals! Campers will take a tour of the seven continents to learn about the different animals that live there. Our exploration across the world will help us learn about animal behaviors both large and small. We will have fun with animal-themed games, songs, and crafts. Expect a roaring fun time and playful experience for animal lovers and future zoologists. Supply fee: TBD

Participants will gain knowledge and skills of each discipline through engaging activities such as scavenger hunts, fun experiments, and innovative projects. They work together to solve real-world problems while unleashing their creative potential. This camp will be upbeat and exciting while engaging students in summer science fun! Supply fee: TBD

    New! Creative Construction (Grades 4-6) 
    Let your imagination run wild at Creative Construction camp! Learn how to build and decorate structures using a variety of materials and tools. We will design and construct buildings out of everyday materials such as cardboard, resulting in finished structures for students to take home at the week’s end! We will also go outside to create forts with items from nature, including sticks, leaves, and more. Students are encouraged to experiment with different textures, shapes, and designs and to incorporate any found materials they’d like into their buildings and forts. Exercise your hands and minds to turn your visions into reality — the sky’s the limit!

    Lemonade Day Camp (Grades 4-6) - THIS CAMP IS FULL

    Lemonade Day Camp is a young entrepreneur’s dream! In a small team setting, entrepreneurs will run a lemonade stand; decide which product(s) to sell; learn how to price, market, and sell the product(s); determine how to realize a profit; and distribute the profit to teammates and a charity of choice. The Lemonade Stand will be open for business on the third day of camp, so plan to stop by for some icy refreshment. This camp is based on the model created by National Lemonade Day.

    Students will study several different disciplines within the performing arts and perform in a showcase at the end of camp. They will have the opportunity to work on acting and improvisation skills, singing, dancing, and costume and makeup design. On the last day of camp, the students’ families will be invited to watch them perform on the stage of Magnificat’s Center for the Performing Arts. Under the direction of Ken Lear, Magnificat’s Theater Director and former company member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, this camp is sure to inspire the theater makers of tomorrow!

    Who thought math could be so much fun? Girls who rock math — that’s who! Have fun learning math by combining art, games, and jewelry-making with problem solving. Participants will design beaded bracelet patterns, make colorful charts, and learn about simple budgets. This dynamic week of numbers, games, and art utilizes math skills and strategies in a fun and engaging way.

    Explore Chinese Language and Culture
    (Grades 1-3) 
    Join Magnificat’s current Mandarin teacher on a virtual tour of Chinese landmarks, including the Great Wall; art activities, such as origami and martial arts; STEM projects that educate young scholars about the Great Panda; and the amazing silkworm and how it produces silk. Students will enjoy an international journey through play and exploration!

    Sweets and Treats (Grades 4-6) - THIS CAMP IS FULL

    Do you have a sweet tooth? Are you ready for a baking extravaganza? Join us this summer for a week of  baking fun. Each day of the week we will make desserts and bake some of our favorite treats! Bring your appetite, and you will leave with a full stomach and baking skills! Ingredients include but are not limited to butter, eggs, all purpose flour, and sugar. Supply fee: TBD

    Dance Camp (Grades 4-6) 
    Jump up, up, and away in this superhero themed dance camp! Participants will learn various styles of dance including ballet, jazz, and hip hop while exploring their creative sides and having fun! For the last day of camp, students wear a superhero costume they created for a small performance to showcase what they’ve learned. Get ready to save the day!

    Do you love all things creepy and spooky? Are you always searching for your next spine-tingling watch or read? Would you love to be besties with Wednesday Addams? Then Spooky Camp is the place for you! You’ll create awesome spooky crafts to take home, play frighteningly fun games, make your own scary stories, and watch and hear about all your hair-raising favorites. Spooky Camp is the perfect place for campers to enjoy their eerie interests with spooktacular, age-appropriate fun. BOO!

    New! Girl Power Camp (Grades 4-6) 
    Great things can happen when girls work together! In Girl Power Camp, participants will unite to unleash their passion for fun and adventure as they work together to solve challenges, learn outdoor skills, and earn badges. Activities include songs, games, and arts and crafts that encourage girls to express themselves while supporting each other and celebrating everything awesome about being a girl!

    New! Adventures Around the World (Grades 4-6) - THIS CAMP IS FULL

    There’s a whole world waiting for you to discover! At Around the World camp, participants will grab their passports and immerse themselves in the customs, cultures, and diversity of a variety of worldwide destinations. Participants will explore a different destination each day and immerse themselves in language, cultural celebrations, music, and more! Activities include making authentic pizza in Italy, celebrating Dia de los Muertos in Mexico, and many more adventures as global citizens traveling the world.
