Magnificamp

Magnificamp is a magnificent way to spend the summer!

Our day camps for girls entering Grades 1-6 explore a variety of exciting themes that encourage creativity, discovery, learning, and fun.
 
Sessions are offered in the morning (8:30-11:30 a.m.) or afternoon (12-3 p.m.). Sign up for two for a full day of fun with supervision provided at lunch, or add in an Athletic Camp to explore multiple interests in one great location! 
 
Week 1: June 10-14, 2024 - $215 per Magnificamp
Week 2: June 17, 18, 20, and 21 (no 19), 2024 - $175 per Magnificamp 
Week 3: June 24-28, 2024 - $215 per Magnificamp

Please note supply fees for select camps as indicated will range from $10-40. Early drop-off is available for $30 per week and late pick-up is available for $15 per week. 

The last day to register is May 17, 2024. The refund deadline for Magnificamp is April 1, 2024. Please submit your refund request via email to Susan Faler at sfaler@maghs.org. A $50 fee per registration will be deducted from the requested refund. Camp t-shirts may not be available for late registrants.

  • Grades 1-3

    MORNING (8:30 - 11:30 a.m.) SESSIONS
     
    Chef Junior (Grades 1-3)
    Future chefs will feed their cooking curiosity through hands-on recipes each day — with plenty to take home! Join us in creating colorful and fun recipes that will help campers find their confidence in the kitchen. We will emphasize how fun food can be as we explore dishes for every meal of the day. But that’s not all: Chefs will also create a fun cooking-inspired craft to go with their new dish! Ingredients will include but are not limited to milk, eggs, all purpose flour, and sugar.     Magical Mermaid Adventures (Grades 1-3)
    This enchanting camp is designed for girls who have ever dreamt of exploring the mysteries of the ocean and embodying the spirit of mermaids. Throughout the week, campers will engage in a variety of creative, educational, and fun activities that foster imagination, teamwork, and a love of the aquatic world. From arts and crafts to storytelling and water-themed games, every day promises to be an exciting new adventure. Supply fee: TBD

    Nature Art Camp (Grades 1-3)
    This is a peaceful spot for nature lovers and creative minds. We will use nature to inspire our arts and crafts throughout the week. We will collect objects from our surroundings and use them to create beautiful artwork. This camp combines art and outdoor fun. Campers get hands-on with projects like making art from leaves collected and prints from flowers. With the fresh scent of pine in the air, days are filled with laughter and the excitement of exploring nature — helping everyone appreciate the beauty of the natural world.

    Little Vet School  (Grades 1-3)
    Calling all animal lovers! Learn about animal care in a paw-some and interactive way at MagnifiCAT Vet School! Aspiring veterinarians will explore the world of animal care through a combination of crafts, activities, and hands-on lessons. Little Vet School will prepare you to care for animals of all types, from furry friends to rambunctious reptiles. Join us for a purr-fect week of learning, crafting, and meeting animals of all kinds! Through playful experiments, robotics exploration, creative challenges, and storytelling, young learners will discover the wonders of STEM while having fun with their favorite Barbie-themed adventures.     Come to cooking camp with an appetite! Young chefs will discover the ins and outs of cooking and baking by learning new skills each day. In our kitchen, young chefs will create delicious food and explore new recipes that they can make again at home. During the week, participants will learn how to make desserts, breakfast, appetizers, and more! Ingredients include but are not limited to butter, eggs, all purpose flour, meat and sugar.     Stars on Stage (Grades 4-6)
    Students will study several different disciplines within the performing arts and perform in a showcase at the end of camp. They will have the opportunity to work on acting and improvisation skills, singing, dancing, and costume and makeup design. On the last day of camp, the students’ families will be invited to watch them perform on the stage of Magnificat’s Center for the Performing Arts. Under the direction of Ken Lear, Magnificat’s Theater Director and former company member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, this camp is sure to inspire the theater makers of tomorrow!

    Girl Power Camp (Grades 4-6)
    Great things can happen when girls work together! In Girl Power Camp, participants will unite to unleash their passion for fun and adventure as they work together to solve challenges, learn outdoor skills, and earn badges. Activities include songs, games, and arts and crafts that encourage girls to express themselves while supporting each other and celebrating everything awesome about being a girl!

    Secret Agent Training (Grades 4-6)
    Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is simple: Report to Magnificat High School for the world’s finest secret agent training! Try your hand at code-breaking, fingerprinting, and more as you complete top-secret missions and solve mysteries using your newly acquired spy skills. At the end of the week, put your skills to the test in a thrilling escape room as you and your spy squad work to escape danger before it’s too late!

    Discover the fun side of the worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math. Participants will enjoy daily engaging activities such as scavenger hunts, experiments, and innovative projects. They will work together to solve real-world problems while unleashing their creative potential. This camp will be upbeat and exciting while engaging students in summer science fun! Supply fee: TBD

    American Girl Doll Camp (Grades 1-3) 
    Reach for the stars at American Girl Doll Camp! You and your doll will experience the power and magic of friendship together. Campers will make friendship bracelets for their friends and dolls, have an epic dance party, and prepare for an American Girl Doll tea party at the end of the week! Join us to unleash your inner star power and creativity at American Girl Doll Camp. Don’t have an American Girl Doll? Don’t worry; any doll will do! Supply fee: TBD

    Girls Rock Math (Grades 1-3) 
    Who thought math could be so much fun? Girls who rock math — that’s who! Have fun learning math by combining art, games, and jewelry-making with problem solving. Participants will design beaded bracelet patterns, make colorful charts, and learn about simple budgets. This dynamic week of numbers, games, and art utilizes math skills and strategies in a fun and engaging way.

    Calling All Wizards! (Grades 4-6) 
    Welcome to the spellbinding world of magic wands, potions, and fantastic beasts. Prepare for full immersion into wizard training as you experience the excitement and camaraderie of competing for the House Cup with your friends. Create and care for your own fantastic beasts such as dragons and pygmy puffs, advance to the subtle art of potion-making, and put your wizarding knowledge to the test in magic duels. It’s going to be an unforgettably magical summer! Supply fee: TBD

    Creative Crafts (Grades 4-6)
    The Creative Crafts camp will inspire and nurture the artistic talents of our campers. Participants will engage in a series of hands-on craft projects that encompass various artistic mediums such as paint, paper, crayons, markers, beads, yarn, and sand. This camp not only focuses on honing creative skills but also encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Supply fee: TBD

    Lemonade Day Camp (Grades 4-6) 
    Lemonade Day Camp is a young entrepreneur’s dream! In a small team setting, entrepreneurs will run a lemonade stand; decide which product(s) to sell; learn how to price, market, and sell the product(s); determine how to realize a profit; and distribute the profit to teammates and a charity of choice. The Lemonade Stand will be open for business on the third day of camp, so plan to stop by for some icy refreshment. This camp is based on the model created by National Lemonade Day.
     
    Flower Power Gardening Camp (Grades 4-6)
    Make sure you’ve got your sunglasses ready and are prepared to get your hands dirty as we learn about gardening! This camp will include planting your own herbs and flowers, decorating pots, learning about sustainability and what you can do at home, and more! Campers will go home every day with a greener thumb!  Supply fee: TBD

    Spooky Camp (Grades 4-6) 
    Do you love all things creepy and spooky? Are you always searching for your next spine-tingling watch or read? Would you love to be besties with Wednesday Addams? Then Spooky Camp is the place for you! You’ll create awesome spooky crafts to take home, play frighteningly fun games, make your own scary stories, and watch and hear about all your hair-raising favorites. Spooky Camp is the perfect place for campers to enjoy their eerie interests with spooktacular, age-appropriate fun. BOO! Supply fee: TBD

    Creativity Station Artist Camp (Grades 4-6)
    Calling all the future Frida Kahlos and Georgia O’Keeffes! Are you ready to get into your paint clothes and make your own masterpieces? This week will include tie-dye, painting, printmaking, and learning about sustainability in art. Get ready to be creative and make some gorgeous fun projects to take home, display, or wear!  Supply fee: TBD

    Spy Training (Grades 4-6)
    The life of spies is to know, not be known. Come to Magnificat High School this summer to learn what it takes to live in secret, move in the shadows, and gather information on unsuspecting targets! You will learn how to write and decode secret messages, infiltrate secret bases (Magnificat classrooms), and craft secret spy personas and disguises. By the end of camp, you will test your knowledge of espionage with thrilling spy-themed games and escape rooms!

    More! Calling All Wizards (Grades 4-6)
    Welcome (or welcome back!) to the spellbinding world for even more magic wands, potions, and fantastic beasts. Prepare for full immersion into magic-mania as you experience the excitement and camaraderie of competing for the House Cup with your friends, play the thrilling game of quidditch, pot mandrakes in herbology, advance to the subtle art of potion-making, and put your wizarding knowledge to the test in magic duels. Whether you are returning for a second week or are entering this magical world for the first time, it will be an unforgettable experience. Supply fee: TBD

    Flowers and Butterflies (Grades 4-6)
    Join us for a week of adventure as we explore the vibrant world of flowers and butterflies. Campers will discover their favorite flowers and the important roles they play in nature. Magnificat High School, a girls' Catholic college-preparatory high school, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, educates young women holistically to learn, lead, and serve in the spirit of Mary’s Magnificat.
