Summer Enrichment Program

Enrich your summer!

Magnificat's Summer Enrichment Program is specially designed for girls entering Grades 7 and 8. Each day, participants will build friendships, explore STEM projects, and engage in health, wellness, and leadership activities within an interactive learning environment run by Magnificat faculty, alumnae, and partner organizations. This program prepares young women for high school and provides an introduction to what it means to learn, lead, and serve at Magnificat. 

Week 1: June 10-14, 2024 - $215
Week 2: June 17, 18, 20, 21, 2024 (four day week for Juneteenth) - $175
Week 3: June 24-28, 2023 - $215

Save $50 when you register for all three weeks!

The refund deadline for Summer Enrichment Program will be April 1, 2024. Camp t-shirts may not be available for late registrants. 
 

Daily Schedule

7:45 a.m. | Arrival 
8-10:30 a.m. | Groups rotate through three 45-minute sessions (Health and Wellness, STEM, and Art and Nature) 
10:30-11 a.m. | Lunch
11-11:45 a.m. | Leadership

Each day we have fantastic leaders in different fields speak about their careers. The 2023 speakers are being scheduled, but previous featured guests include:

Art and Nature

Art and gardening projects will incorporate prayer, service, knowledge, creativity, and fun!  

Health and Wellness

Caring for our health and wellness is a lifelong journey. Magnificat’s experienced counseling team will share proactive strategies for young women to manage stress and maintain a positive outlook in everyday life and in the face of challenges. Yoga, meditation, time management, communication, problem solving, and use of positive affirmations are among the tools we’ll explore together.

STEM

Discover the intriguing interactions between science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)! 

Leadership

Magnificat alumnae have gone on to learn, lead, and serve in a wide range of careers. Participants will hear from leaders in various professions who will share their experiences, answer questions, and give advice to the next generation of women making a difference in the world.

Environmental Stewardship

Prepare for the High School Placement Test with Seeley Test Pros

All students who apply to Catholic high schools must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Seeley Test Pros will provide rising 8th grade girls with the opportunity to gain familiarity with all areas of the test, including verbal skills, quantitative skills, reading, mathematics, and language.

HSPT
The HSPT will be administered Tuesday June 25th from 12-3 p.m.  Registration is required by June 2.

Rising 8th graders enrolled in Summer Programs are invited to take the HSPT on Tuesday, June 25 from 12-3 p.m.

There is no cost to take the HSPT, but registration is required by June 2.

Magnificat High School will not require the HSPT for admissions. HSPT scores will be required for scholarship applications only.
 
Seeley Test  Pros info

Prepare for the High School Placement Test with Seeley Test Pros

Seeley Test Pros will provide rising 8th grade girls with the opportunity to gain familiarity with all areas of the test, including verbal skills, quantitative skills, reading, mathematics, and language. Participants will review the relevant content and strategies necessary for each section of the test through instruction and practice. Participants will increase their familiarity and confidence with the test to maximize their performance.
Participants will take an official HSPT during the final session. Families will receive an official report from this HSPT. Participants will receive a 464-page HSPT textbook that includes review materials and two additional practice tests.

Cost: $199
Registration required by June 2, 2024.
