    Magnificat Summer Camps COVID Policy

As a result of the positive COVID test or COVID diagnosis, Magnificat is following the current CDC and Cuyahoga County Department of Health Guidance as follows:

As a result of the positive test or diagnosis with COVID 19, you are advised to isolate and monitor symptoms.
Day 1 of isolation is the first full day after a camper's symptoms developed or the camper tested positive for COVID-19.  If a camper has COVID-19 or has symptoms, she should isolate for at least 5 days.
Please be advised that your camper can end her isolation and return to camp if your camper tested positive and had symptoms of COVID 19, if:
    • It has been at least 5 days since symptoms first appeared and
    • at least 24 hours with no fever without fever-reducing medication and
    • other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving**Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation
    • Your camper MUST wear a mask for the next following 5 days at all possible times at camp, during lunch periods, during sport activities indoors and outside and other group activities, and traveling to and from camp with others.
If you had severe illness from COVID-19, please follow all guidance from medical providers regarding isolation.

If your student tested positive for COVID-19 but had no symptoms and she continues to have no symptoms, she can return to camp if:

    • 5 days have passed since the date your student took the positive test
    • The student can return to camp after 5 days of isolation if she wears a mask for the next following 5 days at all possible times at Camp, during lunch periods, during sports and other extra curriculars, and traveling to and from school with others.
Please direct any specific questions regarding symptoms and public health isolation and quarantine guidelines to your medical provider or your local Board of Health.  Magnificat High School is not qualified to assess this information.
School Nurse Marybeth McCormick will send these guidelines to a camper's parent or guardian upon notification of a positive COVID test or COVID diagnosis.

We have a full-time nurse, Marybeth McCormick, R.N., on campus with us for each day of camp.  If a child feels ill or has an injury, she will be escorted to the camp nurse.
