Academic Scholarship Test
Due to COVID-19, Magnificat’s enrollment process for the Class of 2025 will be different than it has been in years past. This year, Magnificat will not require applicants to take the HSPT exam in the fall unless they wish to qualify for an Academic Scholarship. Instead, all students applying to Magnificat must submit standardized test scores (MAP, IOWA, OST, PreACT 8/9), which will be taken into consideration along with the students’ grades, academic rigor, writing ability, and extracurricular activities. In the spring, all students who are accepted and have not taken an HSPT exam at Magnificat or any other high school will take the exam to determine which courses she will take during the 2021-2022 school year.
Students who wish to qualify for an Academic Scholarship are invited to take the HSPT exam. If your daughter is applying for a Marian, Alumnae, or Named Endowed Scholarship, she does not need to take the HSPT exam.
Due to limited capacity, students are only permitted to sign up for one test date. Magnificat will also accept scores from HSPT exams taken at other high schools.
Historically, students who score 90 or higher will be invited to apply for an Academic Scholarship, depending on the number of test-takers.
